I was scenic designer and painter for Hays travel agency: commissioned to recreate an authentic Machu Picchu environment for a promotional shoot.

I hand-painted weathered textures and lichen, and sculpted realistic rock outcrops. Grass and native-looking vegetation were later layered to blend seams and give a lived-in, terraced feel.

Paint finishes and surface treatments were chosen to capture Andean light and subtle colour variation.

To complete the vignette, Hays brought two charming llamas to the set, adding natural movement and character that tied the installation to the region it represents. The result was a convincing, photograph-ready tableau that balanced historical reference with practical durability for production.
